CAVE OF EGGS is a ritual descent of primal longing offered as a prayer to the deep self. Where FLOW OF LIFE was the seeding of a healing journey, CAVE OF EGGS enters the emptiness that remained after the undoing.

Through the work of inner alchemy, a reversal is taking place. What once satisfied and offered pleasure no longer reaches. Uprooted — without inherited spiritual map — Marisa is caught between an old perception and a new way of seeing. In this liminal space of non-belonging, unable to touch stillness deep enough, the fire of doubt burns as though a world were ending inside her. Initiating herself, she sets out on a pilgrimage with the mantra, “Mother, are you still here?” and carries her voice into a mountain cave shaped like a protruding vulva, its birth canal leading underground. A hand-woven nest of twenty-two red eggs; a silk scarf colored with her moon blood; and a flaming torch become her ceremonial attire.

Approaching the altar and kneeling in the dark, her shy voice opens into poetry, chant and primal sound.
